The Cell Therapy Center of Hanyang University Hospital took its first step as an affiliated organization under Hanyang University in 2003 when there was a growing interest in stem cells. Since then, the center was selected for the research-driven project by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in May 2010 based on research results such as basic research on treatment methods for incurable diseases, emergency clinical tests using stem cells, and clinical tests led by researchers, which led to the advancement of the current Hanyang Cell Therapy Center.

The success of developing and commercializing cell therapy product that uses stem cells from the patient’s own bone marrow also led to the international recognition as a research-oriented center leading the future of medicine. In addition, the center is continuously conducting researches to develop cell therapy products for the incurable Parkinson's disease, ischemic stroke, cerebral palsy, lupus disease, etc. The center plans to play the central role in opening the age of customized treatment geared toward the future such as establishing cell therapy methods for incurable diseases that have not yet been discovered.

The center is also operating a multidisciplinary treatment clinic to provide treatments centered on the patient and family in line with treatment strategies customized to patients. We will spare no efforts to provide an environment where the patients can fight on without losing health or hope based on our sincere support.
